Salt air, golden light, and one very big YES
There’s something special about Carmel Beach in the off season. The summer crowds are gone, the light softens early, and for a little while at golden hour it feels like the whole coastline belongs to you. It was the perfect setting for Jonas and Vanessa.
The two came down from Northern California on vacation, and from the very first frame their energy was contagious. Vanessa was all in, kicking up the surf and climbing over rocks to get the shot. Jonas was wonderfully supportive the whole way, cheering her on when he wasn’t busy having a blast of his own.
That’s what I love most about these photos. Nothing feels stiff or overly posed. They show two people who make each other laugh, who show up for each other, and who were having the time of their lives together. You can feel their love in every image.
